Yellow Belt Practice Session
Practicing Kung Fu at home should be easy.
The steps below are set out in a logical order so you can be ready for your grading.
This whole practice sesssion should take about 15 minutes.
Step 1: Follow along with both videos below
Practice the Siu Nim Tao, First form of Wing Chun Kung Fu Performed by Sifu Scott Smith
Note: This form must be memorised
Strikes Routine - All strikes in the air
Note: You should watch this video only if you know all strikes for yellow belt.
Step 2. Pick one technique
Make sure to practice both sides
Dai Sau Punch to Parry Palm Strike Left Side
Dai Sau Punch to Parry Palm Strike Right Side
Counter Punch to Latch and Punch Left Side
Counter Punch to Latch and Punch Right Side
Tan Sau vs straight punch to Cutdown Punch Left Side
Tan Sau vs straight punch to Cutdown Punch Right Side
Tan Sau vs backfist to Cutdown Palm Strike Left Side
Tan Sau vs backfist to Cutdown Palm Strike Right Side
Step 3. Do the 1 minute Four Corners practice Video
Four Corners is a combination of doing the techniques Dai Sau Punch and Garn Sau Punch. This is a foundational technique in Kung Fu and can teach you how to defend against all high and low strikes.
